The New Aquarian Opera Company
Aquarian Opera; a glittering jewel in the lives of many opera lovers on the Surrey, Kent, Sussex borders is set to sparkle once more, as Melanie Vinall takes over the artistic reins.

We are now bringing A Night At The Opera, featuring the English debut of winning Gilbert and Sullivan's Improbable New Musical - Less Miserable, from 24th to 26th November 2021 at The Barn Theatre, Oxted.
Auditions for Principles, Chorus and Dancers for the 24th to 26th November 2021 production of opera favourites in the first act and the one hour Gilbert & Sullivan new jukebox musical written by Susan Ellerby in the second act.
There is no fee to audition

Please note that during the relaunch phase of the society, while we are rebuilding the company funds, if you are successfully cast you will be expected to pay a fee to the company. It is our policy that auditions for principal roles are open to both company members and non company members. In this way, we attract talented outsiders, who are considering a professional career in opera, to work alongside company members who initially joined the chorus and wish to advance to principal roles
Opera favourites in the first act and the one hour Gilbert & Sullivan new jukebox musical, Less Miserable, in the second act.
This award-winning new show, written by Susan Ellerby, tells the story of the world's longest running musical, using songs taken entirely from the Gilbert and Sullivan canon but with a few Gilbertian plot twists, to make it Less Miserable! This will be the first production since its award-winning debut at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe.
Imagine Gilbert in heaven bragging that, as fathers of the modern musical, all new musicals are basically just variations on their own plots. Sullivan challenges him to tell the story of the world's longest running musical using only their own songs. Gilbert agrees, but only if he can make some changes to ensure an implausibly happy ending! Expect all the Gilbertian elements: an abandoned baby, ridiculous disguises, and love at first sight, alongside music from all the Savoy Operas and many opportunities for the usual silly dances!
